Salvador Minuchin: a portrait
of the famous family therapist,
exploring his ideas and influences
on contemporary practice.

Born and raised in Argentina, Salvador Minuchin began his career as a family therapist in the early 1960's. In his classic text, Families and Family Therapy (1974) he wrote about the family as a "system' with 'subsystems" which the therapist needs to analyze but also a "dance" which he or she needs to join.
